The Delta Snowpocalypse

Before the first local fork hit the chocolate gravy this morning, Delta was blanketed in pristine snow.
(What is chocolate gravy? Here is a recipe, which I will probably try out soon. I did not know there was a Southern delicacy out there I'd missed):

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup cocoa
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

Directions

  1. Whisk cocoa, flour, and sugar together in a bowl until there are no lumps. Pour the milk into the mixture and whisk until well incorporated. Transfer the mixture to a saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until it starts to look like gravy, (7 to 10 minutes.) Remove from heat and stir the butter and vanilla into the mixture until the butter is melted. Pour generously over homemade biscuits.

Jay and I got out early to capture some local beauty (and hear about chocolate gravy).

Hope you enjoy the pictures and curl up with some nice warm chocolate gravy, which sounds delectable. I am going to fight the urge to cook it.

Love from Delta.
